Tata Power to build 600 MW wind-solar hybrid power plant in India

TP Saurya - a subsidiary of Indian energy company Tata Power - has received a 'Letter of Acceptance' (LoA) from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to build a 600 MW wind-solar hybrid in Karnataka power generation project.

TP Saurya won the project through competitive bidding based on electricity price and electronic reverse auction successively.

The project will be commissioned within 24 months of signing the power purchase agreement (PPA) as planned.

With this project, Tata Power's portfolio of renewable energy projects has grown to 5,524 MW, of which 3,634 MW is installed and operational, and another 1,890 MW is in various stages of development or construction.

The Karnataka project is the latest in TP Saurya's hybrid wind-solar power portfolio. Last year, the company also secured a 300 MW project from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).
