Tesla unveils giant energy storage project that could power 60,000 homes

On April 19, according to foreign media reports, Tesla recently unveiled its latest Megapack energy storage project, which has a capacity of 360MWh and can supply power to 60,000 households. Located in Boulder, Nevada, USA, the project is one of Tesla's largest Megapack projects.

It is understood that the partner of the Tesla energy storage project is Arevon. Last year, Tesla signed a 2GW/6GWh supply agreement for the Megapack battery energy storage system (BESS) with Arevon, an American renewable energy company. This may be the world's largest battery storage order.

Megapack is one of the largest capacity energy storage systems on the market today, with a maximum storage capacity of 3MWh per unit. Compared with similar energy storage systems in the market, the Megapack requires 40% less space.

In fact, Tesla's Megapacks are already in use or deployed in multiple projects at Arevon.

Tesla said: "Arevon's solar and energy storage facilities generate 500,000 megawatt hours per year, power 60,000 homes, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 400,000 tons per year." This project has become Tesla's largest Megapack project in the world one.

Earlier, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that Tesla's energy business will become a utility company distributed around the world, which may even exceed the company's automotive business in the future.
