In 2021, my country's lithium-ion battery exports will increase by 78% to 28.4 billion US dollars
According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, in 2021, my country's export of lithium-ion batteries will be 28.43 billion US dollars, a significant increase of 78.3% year-on-year. Among them, exports in December reached US$3.47 billion, hitting a new monthly high for the third consecutive month, with a year-on-year increase of 80.9% for the month, maintaining double-digit year-on-year growth for 18 consecutive months, demonstrating the high prosperity of the industry.
The United States is the largest market for my country's lithium-ion battery exports. In 2021, exports to the United States will be 4.97 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 100%, accounting for 17.5% of total exports. Germany, South Korea, and Vietnam ranked second to fourth, with exports of US$3.49 billion, US$3.0 billion and US$2.53 billion respectively, with year-on-year growth rates of 135%, 110% and 75% respectively.
According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, my country will produce 23.26 billion lithium-ion batteries in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 22.4%. The production in 2020 and 2019 was 18.84 billion and 15.72 billion, respectively.
