EDF: Won the bid for Peru 100MW photovoltaic + energy storage project

EDF EN (EDF EN), a subsidiary of EDF, has announced that it has won a recent tender in Peru for a hybrid project with 100 MW of photovoltaics and 100 MWh of battery storage. . The company will be responsible for developing, building and operating the hybrid solution, which will be connected to the microgrid in the town of Iquitos in the Peruvian Amazon.


Meanwhile, EDF signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with state-owned electricity distribution company Electro Oriente. Under the contract, the renewable energy company will supply electricity at a more competitive price than diesel by 2026, the company said.
